幼い頃から、私は動物や植物そして鉱物達をこよなく愛してきました。きっとその出会いがあったからでしょう。気がつけば彼らとのふれあいの中で生まれた心を歌に編み、自然と歌うようになっていたのです。2004年夏、IUCN初の親善大使に任命されてから尚一層、歌を通じて地球上の全ての生き物達との架け橋になれたらよいなと心に強く思っています。
しかし、日本・アジア地域に於けるIUCNの存在は未だ認知されていない現実があります。国境を越えて今私たちがしなければならない事は何でしょう。それを見つけに一歩ずつ歩いていきましょう。
「私達は皆、この地球という大きな生きものに住む"細胞同士"なのですから。」
“the BRIDGE between the worlds”
Since my childhood, I have had deep appreciation for animal, plants and stones. I found myself making& singing many song which were inspired by those intimate contact with nature. In the summer 2004, I had the honor to be the first Goodwill ambassador of IUCN. Through my song, I would like to be a bridge between man and all diverse of life in this planet.
However, I’m sorry to say that IUCN is not well-recognized in Japan and other countries in Asia. I am sure that we can step up, searching for what we should do for transboundary cooperation.
We, human and all living creatures are one of the cells of this great and beautiful Earth.
Every year I’ll perform concert about 70places in Japan.

全国から沢山の皆様に来て頂き、ありがとうございました。９月に「世界自然保護会議」が行われる韓国から先日お会いしたキム・チョン・チュン氏(2012年済州島IUCN総会 韓国組織委員会 事務局長 ）のメッセージが届きました。当日、お客様に差し上げるパンフレットにも素晴らしい方々から素敵なメッセージを頂いたのでIUCNページからご覧下さいね。
IUCNにとって４年に一度の「世界自然保護会議」。２０１２年の今年は韓国の済州島にて行われます。その準備は着々と進められていますが、先日は韓国政府からキム チョンチュン氏（韓国組織委員会 事務局長）が来日されましたのでご挨拶に環境省まで行って参りました。開催は９月です。私は開会式レセプションに出席と韓国政府主催の大イベントコンサートにIUCNの親善大使として参加の予定です。韓国政府の皆様から大きなご協力を頂き感謝しております。此処に至れたのも連日、IUCN本部と韓国政府代表との間でイルカ・チームの為に各種の交渉をして下さった小池IUCN地域理事の存在が大変大きく心から感謝しております。

―人類は心を繋げて行けるのだろうか？―
皆様こんにちは！私はIUCNの親善大使を務めているイルカ（IRUKA）と申します。
今回はリオに於いて再びこの様に大きな会議が開かれると言う事に大変、期待している一人でもあります。そして「リオ＋２０」と言う文字を見る度に何とも言えない感慨深い思いを抱くのは私だけでは無いでしょう。あの「地球サミット」から２０年の月日が流れましたね。
幼い頃から動植物が好きだった私はこの地球の未来が心配でならない子どもでした。
１９７０年初頭から歌い始め、初めは一人でそんな思いを歌に作って歌っていましたが次第に共鳴者も増えました。更には子育てをしながら洗剤やゴミ問題を勉強しているうちに確信を得たのはやはり「地球は全て繋がっている」という思いでした。そんな折に「地球サミット」があり加速度的に同じ思いを抱く同志に巡り合えたのが１９９２年頃です。残念ながらリオには参加出来ませんでしたが「地球サミット」は私にとっても大きな転換期になりました。
２００４年からIUCNの活動を通して世界中に沢山の仲間が増えました。
この地球に対しての思いが活動に変えられる事に益々責任と喜びを感じています。
「リオ＋２０」が未来の地球にとっての有意義な会議になる事を心から望んでいます。

Message for Rio+20 - IRUKA
I have great expectations for the Rio+20 summit. Two decades have passed since the Earth Summit took place in 1990. This fact alone generates in me deep emotion and thoughts of our earth, and I believe that I am not the only one who has such feelings.
Since I was child, I have loved animals and plants and worried about the Earth's future. At the beginning of my career as a singer in the early 70s, I used to write and sing songs to express such feelings. Gradually, I have attracted people who sympathized with my thoughts. Being also a wife and a mother, I am able to look at environmental issues problems through my house work, for example the impacts of detergents and waste. I have realised that everything on Earth is interconnected. However, it was around 1992, the year of the Earth Summit, when I started meeting many friends who shared the same feelings. I could not participate in the Earth Summit, but it functioned as a springboard for my conservation activities.
Having served as an IUCN Goodwill Ambassador since 2004, I am so happy and proud of having many friends who share the same goal in the world. I also feel a great responsibility for turning my passion for the Earth into real and concrete conservation activities.
I truly hope that the Rio+20 will bring fruitful outcomes for the Earth's future.

－The Bridge between worlds－ IRUKA
南アフリカ共和国・ダーバンにおいてのCOP17・COP/MOP7会議にお集まりの皆様、私はイルカと申します。
2004年にIUCN初の親善大使に任命され音楽や絵本等作品を通じて「この地球の皆がつながって行こう！」と呼びかけて来ました。今年から親善大使も増え、私達はこの地球の家族として、よりつながりを強めて行ける事でしょう。
人と全ての生き物。そして未来の地球の為に、利害を越えた各国の皆様の話し合いがなされる事を願っています。

"To participants at the Durban summit. Since 2004 when I started acting as the first IUCN goodwill ambassador, I have been calling for the necessity of cooperation among all people on the earth through my music and picture books.
This year, IUCN has appointed new goodwill ambassadors active in nature conservation activities around the world. I believe our coordinated efforts will strengthen the connection among all members of the family of the earth.
For all people, all lives, and future of the earth, I hope the conference negotiations will bring fruitful results beyond each stakeholder's interests."

●「この地球はひとつの大きな生き物。だから私達は皆その細胞同士」そう思い、いつも作品を創り歌って来ました。
「This planet is one big creature . So our presence is like between cells ｣
I always feel like it has been creating songs and pictures.
●しかし、初期の頃はその思いが中々沢山の人々に理解されませんでしたが、今は沢山の人に支持してもらえる様になりました。
However , in the early days were not any people have difficulty understanding their
feelings . But now I got a lot of supportive people.
●そして2004年からIUCN親善大使として任命されてからは世界中に沢山の仲間が増えました。
A lot of friends around the world has in creased , probably because we have to work together IUCN become ambassador since 2004.
●グリーンアワードに推薦された事は誇りに思い、それだけで充分に嬉しい事です。
Green Awards has been recommended to me proud, be happy enough in itself.
●これからの環境活動と生き方に大きな勇氣をもらいました。ありがとうございました。

2.今後の抱負
●私の名前IRUKA(Dolphinという意味)の様にあらゆる世界をつなげる架け橋になりたい。日本国環境省の定める「2011～2020国連生物多様性の10年(JAPAN COMMITTEE FOR UNDB)」の国内委員として、「生物多様性」や「温暖化対策」に取り組む事はもちろんですが。
As my name IRUKA, a dolphin, means, I hope to be a bridge between all worlds not only through engaging in biodiversity or climate change as a
domestic member of the "Japan Committee for United Nations Decade on Biodiversity 2011-2020" but in every way possible.
●地球上の子供達と全ての生き物は全て我が子と思えるように・・・。
I hope to believe all children and beings on the Earth are children of mine.
●伝統的な物を子孫に伝承して行けるように。
I hope to hand our traditions down to our children.
●被災した日本への救援をありがとうございました。
被災した他国への復興もお手伝いして行きます。
Thank you so much for your support for Japan affected by the disaster.
I will support other countries suffering disasters.
